Climate Bottom Meeting

The Climate Bottom Meeting is a casual pararell event to the official Climate Summit with the aim of setting the scene for sustainable living.
Christiania, or "Freetown Christiania" as this part of Copenhagen also is called, will host a "Climate Bottom Meeting" running from the 7th-18th of December in pararell to the official Climate Summit COP15. In a casual atmosphere, they will present the theme "Windows of Hope" which collects a number of practical initiatives from sustainable cities and eco-villages around the world, all with the purpose of overcoming current ecological, social, and challenges of the globe.

As you can read in the Peoples Climate Calendar there will be daily program with a variety of lectures, workshops, presentations and political debates mixed with entertainment activities, such as singing, dancing and music. Throughout the conference there will be representatives from indigenous groups who have come from all over the world to inspire the visitors by showing their lifestyles and ideas for a sustainable living.

The Climate Bottom Meeting will primarily take place at Christiania, but also at The Meadow of Peace (Fredens Eng) and The Factory (Fabrikken) with the cinema The City of Lights (Byens lys). In addition there will be smaller workshops and exhibitions at the Main City Square by City Hall (Rådhuspladsen), and at the Climateforum (Klimaforum09). Behind the meeting are Christiania Culture Association, The Network for the Conservation of Christiania as a Green Urban-biotope, two Agenda 21 centres in Copenhagen (Sundby and Inner City), LØS, The Danish Association for Eco-villages, and GEN, Global Eco-village Network - in collaboration with many individuals, associations and groups
